What do you think it takes for a person to know God and go to Heaven? Can someone just not believe in God and still make it to Heaven?

The Bible is the Word of God. It has eternal relevance, and so it speaks to all humankind, in every age and in every culture.
Let's consider how the Bible answers these questions:  It's a matter of FAITH.

F is for FORGIVENESS: We must realize and recognize that we are sinners. We cannot have eternal life and heaven without God's forgiveness.
Read Romans 3:10 and Ephesians 1:7.

A is for AVAILABLE: Forgiveness is available for all, but it is not automatic. We need to recognize that Jesus Christ died on the cross for us and paid for our sins.
Read John 3:16, Matthew 7:21a, and Galatians 2:20

I is for IMPOSSIBLE: It is impossible for God to allow sin into Heaven. God is loving and just, and His judgment is against sin. Every person is a sinner who has committed sin.
Read James 2:13a and Romans 3:23
-So how can a sinful person enter Heaven, where God allows no sin?-

T is for TURN: turn means to repent. We must turn from sin and self and repent of our sins (ask forgiveness of our sins). Then we need to turn to Jesus Christ and accept Him into our hearts and lives as our Lord and Savior!
Read Luke 13:3, Acts 3:19, Romans 10:9, and John 6:37

H is for HEAVEN: Heaven is eternal life.... here and hereafter. Once we have accepted Jesus Christ we have eternal life and the hope of heaven.
Read John 10:10 and John 14:3

PRAY THIS PRAYER

“Father God, I know that I have sinned, and I am a sinner. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins. I invite you Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.”

Taking the step of faith can also be described by saying: Forsaking All I Trust Him.
